Aerial Hoop is also known as Lyra, Cerceau / Cerceaux or Aerial Ring. It is possible to consider Aerial Hoop as a “relative” of Pole dance, but instead of using a vertical pole, you will be trained with a suspended hoop. This hoop can be fixed, rotated in a shaft or twisted. A ring comes with a single or double hanging tab, depending on the desired effect and the level of the dancer.
The origin of Aerial Hoop is still controversial, only to know that this is one of the main activities of the circus troupe since 2000 especially the famous Varekai show of Cirque du Soleil (Canada). They have included Aerial Hoop in their international tours since 2002.
Similar to Pole dancing, Aerial Hoop helps your body to be more flexible. In addition, the muscles of the back, abdomen area and thighs also become slimmer. Practitioners will wear clothes that are similar to Pole dancing (show off the arms, thighs and belly) so that these body parts can stick to the ring. Even though the ring is suspended in the air, you can be assured of the safety of the subject. There are padding on the ground, and the ring is also hanging in the appropriate height. Hoop slings are a very solid, safety-inspected cable that limits the risks when people are in the air. Because this is a practice method similar to pole dancing, teachers often coordinate the movements of these two subjects to promote the effect of both on the body.
